About Dr. Peterson
Dr. Peterson earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National College of Chiropractic (now the National University of Health Sciences). He is also a graduate of SUNY College at Cortland with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and physical education. Dr. Peterson then attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst concentrating in biomechanics, ergonomics and exercise physiology. Prior to attending chiropractic college Dr. Peterson worked as an ergonomic consultant and an exercise specialist.
He continues to learn and attends continuing education courses on a regular basis. Dr. Peterson has completed post-graduate courses in sports injuries, occupational health, extremity adjusting, Graston technique, orthopedics, radiology, physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, Dry Needling, whiplash, TRX Suspension training and Applied Kinesiology.

A life long athlete Dr. Peterson became interested in chiropractic after suffering a lower back injury in high school. He continued to suffer from lower back pain for the next several years. While in playing rugby in graduate school he met a chiropractor who changed his life. After several chiropractic visits his lower back pain was gone. Over the next 2 years Dr. Peterson was treated by his chiropractor for several other rugby related injuries and was so impressed with the results that he enrolled in chiropractic school. After chiropractic school Dr. Peterson returned to Massachusetts and practiced with his friend/chiropractor for 4 years. In 2001 he moved to Durham and began providing chiropractic care to research triangle area residents. A long time rugby player Dr. Peterson coached the Duke University Women's Rugby Club for 6 years. Dr. Peterson resides in Durham with is wife Fern and son Olin.
